Online marketing of your website

So you have a website. Its aim is to broadcast your talents to the world. Shoppers should come by the thousands, spending their leisure hours among your treasures. After all, you’re the best at what you do, right?

Unfortunately, that’s not the way the Internet works for most non-celebrity artists and crafters. Take a look at our article for online marketing. It may not make the above statement come true, but it should set you on your way. Click here for more of the article.

How to take great photos!

Have you ever wondered why some crafters are successful selling on the web while others aren’t? Have you ever thought, my product is just as good as theirs, how can they be selling more than I am? Well, I must say it starts with a great presentation. Put it this way, if you had a choice between buying something that was sitting on a black velvet box with a beautiful ribbon, vs. that same item in a ripped shoebox with glued paper on it, which one would you buy? That’s right, we all would take the one from the black velvet box. Well, this applies to the web as well. As you search through online storefronts, those crafters that are successful start by presenting their work the best way possible. They take great photos of their work to display on the web. Great photos show great presentation.

Not sure how to take great photos? We can start you in the right direction. Read our article for taking those great photos, that capture your exquisite work.

2007 and the artsEfest.com Rework

Hi Everyone,
I hope you all have a wonderful New Year and that you have a safe one as well.

As we move into the new year, we are planning some major changes to the artsEfest.com website. We have continued to add to our existing site over the years, but we have decided we need a new look and some new features. In the past we have looked to our users for information on changes/additions they would like to see in the future. Since you are the ones using the site the most, who better to ask.

This year we would like to continue with that tradition. We are looking for any and all feedback from you. We are primarily focussed on the following areas:

  1. Shopping Cart and Checkout process
  2. Ways for searching for products other than just by category
  3. For crafters, what improvements would you like to see in the site editor
  4. The look of the site. What would you like to see? Colors? Layout?

Please feel free to post your suggestions to this blog for others to view and provide feedback on.

Again, have a wonderful New Year and we look forward to your responses!

Brian

It is important to remember that the holidays are a time for giving thanks and to spread love. A little something to those in need can go a long way.

Happy Holidays!
